I'm working 6:30am to 5pm currently in a workshop doing welding. It's a bit cooler than outside temperatures when I'm inside but still it's furiously warm. I saw that a postman died doing his rounds earlier from the heat and it's got me wondering about my own situation. Is there anything I can do to avoid overheating and generally make sure I'm safe in this absurd heat?

Drink lots of water is a good idea.

I'm getting quite freaked our by people keep saying that people are just dying in this heat. I've been feeling poorly for over a week while its been hot, extreme lathargy etc. I have been drinking tons but still feel dreadful :(

One of the main area to cool down your blood is the inside of your wrists. Run them under water for 5 seconds for each hand, don't use freezing cold water. Also a splash water on the back of your neck. Read that in the papers last week
