When I attending CBT the councillor said it was important to try and remember if I could what was it that started my anxiety as if I could I could be cured.

Anyway it finally hit me today what it was, now what do I do to cure it

hi dj thats a real big leap in the right direction,as some people don,t even know what caused their anxiety!i guess now your councillor will be able to steer you in the right direction.

I would suggest talking over the next steps with your counselor. I have found keeping an online journal very helpful in dealing with the past and the present. Congratulations to you for finding out, many never do. Sounds like a step towards getting better to me! Good luck.

I guess it depends what it was that started it. Are you able to tell us atall?

People will forget what you said
People will forget what you did
But people will never forget how you made them feel

Yes, It was drugs that started it. My first ever panic attack, and all the torture started from then on. Never had a problem before this. A friend happened to give me a smoke of stong grass, I had never taken it before, I had only ever tried the ressen type cannabis, I only had a few puffs and before I knew it I had a full blown panic attack and ended up in tears crying I was so scared

Thanks - that helps.

Firstly you are not alone in this ....

drugs
pls dnt judge.but did taking drugs contribute?? (http://www.nomorepanic.co.uk/showthread.php?t=2426)
Screwed myself up using drugs (http://www.nomorepanic.co.uk/showthread.php?t=5333)
advice on mixing citalopram and ecstasy (http://www.nomorepanic.co.uk/showthread.php?t=4824)

Ok, I assume you don't take drugs anymore since this episode?

That episode was in the past and you have moved on. You learnt a hard lesson but I doubt you will take drugs again now.

You don't need drugs, they do nothing for you so can you not see it that they are in the past and something you can forget about and move on?
