Hi superxero.

4 petechia on one arm is nothing to be worried about I don't know your age but it is perfectly normal part of the ageing process and also many factors can cause them that are harmless I have a lot over my body and they are just normal.

Unless you get a lot and other symptoms like a fever and fatigue I myself would not worry to much

Hi to do a profile pic you need to click on quick links and then edit options.

Yeah please stop using Dr yahoo or even Dr google.

It is a common thing that they always return the shock horror first. Petechia can be common on people for many reasons and are mostly just a harmless problem but like I said unles you get lots n lots or have other symptoms as well you should have nothing to worry about. Expect for the unsightly red dots.

If you search on here for petechia you will see lots of similar posts like yours about them and I think most replys have read the same that alone they mean nothing.

Petechiae usually indicates a serious disease when the rash like bumps are widespread and very dark and robust in color. Some benign things that could be the cause of petechiae:

Tiny blood vessels (capillaries) link the smallest parts of your arteries to the smallest parts of your veins. Petechiae appear when capillaries bleed, leaking blood into the skin. A number of things — including prolonged straining, certain medical conditions, specific types of injuries and some medications — can cause this bleeding.

Prolonged straining
Tiny petechiae of the face, neck and chest can be caused by prolonged straining during activities such as:

Crying
Coughing
Vomiting
Childbirth
Weightlifting
Certain medications
Some types of medications can result in petechiae, including:

Aspirin
Atropine (Atropen)
Carbamazepine (Carbatrol, Epitol, Tegretol, others)
Chloral hydrate (Somnote)
Cimetidine (Tagamet)
Desipramine (Norpramin)
Indomethacin (Indocin)
Morphine (Avinza, Ms Contin, others)
Naproxen (Aleve, Anaprox, Naprosyn)
Nitrofurantoin (Furadantin, Macrobid, Macrodantin)
Penicillin
Quinine (Qualaquin)

Best of luck! 4 Petechiae is NOTHING to worry about!

Superxero, it is easier said than done but I think you need to just calm down and relax.
We have all been in the same place as you worried about a change or a symptom that we believe could be a illness.

But you need to take a step back and read what people have said. Do you have any other syptoms that you think could be connected.

You could always next time your near a chemist just pop in and see the pharmacist show them as they have a wealth of knowledge and maybe able to advise you there and then.

Also if these red spots are in a the same proximity it could point to a bite from some little critters.

My arm hurt

Hi Superxero

I think your arm hurting does not have a lot to do with it mate.

Could I ask a question of you what do you suffer from Mental Health wise..
Maybe it would be an idea to do a introduction of yourself on the into page so it is more easy for people to try and be of help.

Just a suggestion.
