Good day
I am a new member here and I hope someone here can assist me. I have been on citalopram for about 8 years, it seems to work ok for me. I would like to get off it as I am sure it is not good for me. Every time I try and ween off a week or 2 into it I get signs of depression and it sucks. Any suggestions for me? Also my cholesterol has risen and I am not sure if it is related to the drug, I have heard others that thought it might be, any thoughts?
Thanks
David

hi,i was on citalopram 20mg for 6 years and found it difficult to come off,you have to do it very slowy,it took me 6-8 weeks,i cut down 5mg every 2-3 weeks to reduce withdrawls,i now take vitamin b complex instead of anti-depressants for my anxiety and I find it helps greatly along with green tea 4 cups a day and regular exercise and good diet, all these little things can help greatly....I wish you great health and happiness in your future :)
