Does anyone else get a thing where their heart feels sort of irregular but when you feel your pulse it's not? I get this a lot, cos my heart will be beating with different strengths. It'll be like THUMP, thump, thump, THUMP, thump. It means I only feel the heavy ones and it's quite unsettling. Sometimes I just get a thump randomly (not skipped beats, though I get those too). I think it's worse once I focus on it.

I get this, most noticeable when i'm trying to sleep. I get no other symptoms though (breathing is fine and so forth).

Yes it's a classic symptom of anxiety. Look up "Ectopic Heartbeat". If you are still worried get some reassurance from your GP. He/she wont laugh they will listen to your heart and explain what is happening.

Thanks for the replies; it freaked me out a bit cos it's a new thing and I have blood pressure problems. I don't mean ectopics; I do get those too, but these are just thumps.
