Long story short; a mole was found in my eye about 3yrs ago. I had 6monthly checks and all apparently been ok. However, last September they thought the mole had changed and potentially become cancerous!
I had further tests and was told all was ok with it.
I still wanted further reassurance so seemed the opinion of the ocular oncologist....
Lots if tests carried out. They said it was just a mole, around 5.38mm and I'd get reviewed a couple more times before needing 2 yearly checks!

Today I went to opticians. They took another photo and said it was around 6
7mm. It said he didn't think it had changes from last years photo ( around October 2012.)
I got home and worried that its got bigger since the oncologist in December. This is therefore freaked me out!
My eye cancer fears are creeping back!!!

I do think that maybe the optician isn't accurate in his measurement as the oncologist had loads of special equipment !?!

This is why my HA started, back in September 2012.

I would contact the oncologist and explain about the measurement - they may want to see you. To clarify, I think there are times when we tell ourselves we are making a fuss because of HA but then there are times when it is perfectly rational to get checked out. I think this is one of those times. Please keep us posted! Xx

Edited to add: When my daughter was under a specialist for seven years I learnt that it is perfectly ok to ring the specialist's secretary with queries. The specialist won't know anything has changed unless you tell him/her. It doesn't sound as though they are worried, which is good, but it would be sensible to update them.

Thanks. I have an appointment in September so may wait until then.
October 12, optician took a photo and measured the screens photo as 7mm.
December 12, specialist who did ultrasound measured using ultrasound as 5.something mm.
If aug 13 optician said its still 7mm, then surely (hopefully) the specialist measurements in December are more accurate.

Well as far as the optician is concerned it hasn't grown, that is good. Well reasoned!
