Huy guys,

I try not to post too much on the forum as when i am having a good patch i try to forget i get anxiety without having the fear of it coming back again. I do however read the Q&A when i feel a bout coming on which i get great support from.
Well, i am having another bout. I have seen a pattern within my panic tho - i find that i could watch something on TV or have a really awful thought and then that's it it sticks like glue and like a stuck record goes round and round in my mind giving me the apsolute terrors - it is almost like i am a complete worrier which then brings on the panic. I could for instant watch a programme about shop lifters then think 'oh my god could i be a shop lifter' or something ridiculous like that and be worrying that i might shop lift or something stupid which when the phaze passes seems utterly ridiculous. After a week or two it passes almost like a passing phase.
Am i completely nuts or is this 'normal' in the world of panic???
Help!

Just found the para below on some archived messages which sums up what i am trying to say above. I find i can't control the 'chatter' and negative thoughts sometimes that goes on in my mind. I can have months of being fine then bang it hits and i feel i have no control, like something has taken over it. I am going to try the affirmations, i just wish i could click my fingers and it all be gone, having panic at night now which is making me dread going to bed, i don't want the vicious circle to start tho. Anyone else have any advice/experiences on this?

"Incidentally ,I want to mention that people who have these negative thoughts may not be pessimistic people. To the world and to themselves they may be the most positive cheerful people you could ever want to meet. Most of these negative thought chattering banter never gets vocalized or talked about. Lots of people are far too embarrassed to tell anyone what whizzes through their minds and mainly it’s a swift process that results in a rational end point , its just when a thought gets stuck and gets into a fast downward spiral that trouble starts. This can be daily or just when a certain situation arises. "
