View Full Version : Please I need some advice about biliruban levels
My sons biliruban level is now at 39. Normal here is below 20. All his other bloodwork comes back fine except for thàt. The doctors say not to worry but I am dealing out! He's 15 I don't know what could be causing this!!! I'm scared its something he will die from and the doctors are brushing it off. Does any one know what makes this go up? His levels have been 36, 32, 26, 23 and two months later 39?

Hi, I think its quite common. I have had high billirubin levels for a time and so has my sister. Xxx
Someone I know has high bilirubin levels, apparently it can be hereditary and doesn't usually cause (or indicate) problems, you just have to keep an eye on it I think.
Do you mind me asking what your levels were an how did you find out? With my so his eyes are slightly yellow you can't tell unless you look close

I fullblood test for something unrelated, notsure what my levels were but they were high... my sisters were v high... she is 21 and im 32 no problems with liver or blood. Xxx
mine is always high too, normal here is 21 and mine is 30-40.
doctors litereally not bothered in the slightest.
Mine have always been high but the doctor has never been concerned.
did any of you notice the whites in your eyes get tinged yellow? Nothing really dark its just like a really light yellow color? Thank you all for your responses.
no mine are not yellow but at once point i was convinced my hands and face had a yellow tinge. ive now realised that was anxiety.
I know this is an old post but there is something called Gilbert's Syndrome that causes high bilirubin when all other liver tests are normal and there is no need for treatment.
