a strange sinking feeling

hi everyone,ive had anxiety for about 8 years now
its been good and bad but there is something that has always bothered me
i will try and describe it best i can
it happens mostly when i am about to drift off to sleep i get this falling feel)you know like if you fall over in a dream)
i cant really describe it but it feels like im gonna fall,well i dont know
i only get it once or twice a week at the most but on top of all my other woories and fear this ranks about the highest
anyone get anything like this,i used to have a form of epilepsy when i was younger

hi there yes i do get that sinking feeling quite often i can also get it when im sitting down i feel as if im sinking into the cushion its awful your not on your own hun

I get it too, just as I am drifting off to sleep, and then I wake up feeling as if I am falling, my heart starts racing and I usually have a panic attack. I feel for you. I know how frightening it feels. I keep a bottle of water by my bed and my husband bought me a teddy bear to snuggle with, as he works nights. I have been working on remembering to do breathing exercises everyday and it has really helped. You are not alone.
