Legs feel like they're moving... When I'm sitting down!

The only time I have to sit among people for long periods is at church and I can't do it when I'm highly anxious. It actually feels like my legs are moving, its the strangest sensation. I'll also get vertigo spells. The whole thing feels like typical fight or flight but I don't know. Does anyone know exactly what I mean? It feels like my legs want to have a mind of their own. Wish I could describe the sensation. It makes it Incredibly difficult to stay seated! :(

Yes this is quite common when you are highly anxious and it is an awful feeling, you are right it is all to do with the fight or flight response.

Or it could be that your legs are not religious and are trying to walk out of the church :noangel:
