Newbie to Venlafaxine

Ok this a great forum and have read extensively about the effects of Venlafaxine, I have been on 75mg for 9 days and have experienced pretty bad se's, much alike coming off amphetamine or e, on day 9 I still feel really weird even with my best mate with me. I'm quite a heavy drinker and my blood results were elevated due to the drinking but I didn't think the se's would be quite so bad.

My cpn wants to see me again on Monday and he wants to up the dose to 150mg, I still cannot go to work and can barely leave the house.

I haven't used drugs for a long time but do take some hash to calm me down.

Can anyone relate to this please.

It's very early days for you so your se May last a few more weeks yet, don't let your cpn rush you into upping you dose.

I know the se are horrible but I don't think taking cannabis will help you, you might be better asking doc for 2mgs of diazepam.

Thanks Clio, just taking the odd smoke at nite to calm my eyes a bit, feel ok but it's my eyes that are the worst problem, not dry but feel like i'm staring intensely at everything, surely i'm not the only one with this??
