hi sherri, i have been taking prozac for quite a while now (about 4 years i think) - it makes a huge difference to me. I had no side effects except for feeling a bit spaced out at first, and it brings my anxiety down to a level i can deal with.

In all honesty i would be on it forever if i was able to. Unfortunately, when i came off it i went back to how i was (major anxiety), so it certainly didnt help with my underlying problems, and it is important to learn to tackle these another way, but for something that helps you to just get on with life, it has been great for me.

By the way, it takes a while to kick in. I would say at least a couple of weeks to get any benefit, and probably about 3 months before a major difference.

feel free to pm me if you want to ask any questions about it.

Hi Sherri

I'm on Prozac. Had quite bad effects insofar as it made my anxiety worse before it made it better. Also took about 6 weeks or so to kick in, so all in all a very tough 6 weeks but feel much better now.

Hope this helps

I was on it for 9 months and it helped with the depression but never touched the panic attacks or anxiety so I took myself off it.

Hi Sherri, I started on it on Monday and so far so good. I know it takes a few weeks to kick in but fingers crosses it'll be good for me. I do feel a bit like my head's swimming and a bit headachy but I feel like that and much worse with the anxiety so i'm willing to try anything if it makes me feel better.

Hi Sherri, I've been on Prozac for about 4/5 months now and to be honest, it was about 6 weeks before I noticed a real difference. It has worked for me though, not had a full blown panic attack since taking it and managed to wean myself off Diazepam. Don't seem to sleep as well on Prozac, but I'd rather be tired than have panic attacks.
