ear and throat pain really scared

help I am waking up with the most unbearable pain n ears-worse when laid on them.I keep getting a sore throat on one side only-tonsil there looks lumpier and once bled. Gp just tells me its nerve pain. read that tonsil cancer etc can give nerve pain-one of the symptoms. Going to have to beg to be reffered. Could anxiety give bad ear pain. anyone else get this?
