Hi there,im 22 and yes have suffered from anxiety before but felt "normal and myself" about 3weeks ago and was enjoying my life moving to edinburgh about 2months beforehand.About 3 weeks ago i went on an hours train journey to northumberland to spend the weekend with an old friend,we were out shoppin in newcastle when suddenly i felt very faint and felt like i was going to pass out,i didnt know what to do,i sat down but the feeling wouldnt go away.i was so scared,i couldnt handle the surroundings,i couldnt even focus on anything i just wanted to be feeling alright and in a secure place where i didnt feel alone and like death was going to happen.a paramedic was called out as i still couldnt stop feeling lightheaded and was taking to the hospital, they didnt do any tests and just said i had a urine infection which i didnt feel any symptoms for?they gave me 3 days worth of tablets to take.but after the incident even on the way home that day i didnt feel myself and felt odd in some way, even though having to carry on with usual things.3 weeks down the line and i am finding everything in my head too hard to deal with,i have felt very strange like i am not me,feeling very dazed and feel not totally there, like my arms feel weak and light and almost as though i could just collapse.i have had strange thoughts in my head that question reality, life etc and have made even watching tv hard to deal with like it's odd.i sort of feel my surroundings are different and i get this overwhelming scared feeling when i realise im anywhere like a shop, work etc.Its so scarey as i feel like this must be due to there being something abnormal in my brain-i must be mad!i am back taking antidepressants but they arent working too well yet as i came across faint today and had a massive panick attack over how was i going to get home alive!

Please help me if you can....surely this cant be all anxiety that seems like its killing me

hi katty, i had an experience like you, went to A&E and they said I had flu, I knew it wasn't!!! It was panic and anxiety. I found it hard to believe it could make me feel so ill too. Knowing what it is does help. You can talk to yourself and say I'm ok, its just anxiety, I'll be fine.
