I've had this eczema relentlessly on and off for weeks now. The doctor has prescribed a mild steroid cream, but I've read online that you shouldn't use these creams if your eczema is infected.

I'm worrying dreadfully that I'm going to come down with a fever all of a sudden due to this eczema/dermatitis. I can feel the lymph nodes at the end of my forearm and I can't keep myself from checking them.

I used a mobile phone flashlight and it seems that my pinky finger is seeping a slightly yellowish ooze. Earlier I had a very strange symptom that I could feel my pulse in that finger and when I looked at it it flashed red along with my heartbeat.

Please tell me what you think...

My skin is not crusty, nor are there any signs of yellowness around the wounds. Just that pinky finger is weeping and the pus looks slightly yellow under a white light.

The rash on my wrist is oozing slightly, but it looks like a clear fluid.

My hand looks shiny because I have applied an emollient to keep it moist. My skin is no longer dry at all, just red and itchy.

If you are worried then go back to the doctor or maybe see the pharmasist or a nurse or walk in centre.

we are not medically trained and cannot tell anything from pictures of things really (every computer has different resolution settings etc) it has to be seen in person by someone who is qualified

I would like to say no it isn't infected to reassure you BUT I can't do that, I have no idea. you need to go see someone if you are worried about it.

Yes, I understand and I kinda guessed that would be the response I would get. Thank you.

Hello,

I have eczema and often get really bad flair ups. I would say its not infected to be honest as mine has looked so much worse then that and not been infected. I sometimes get a patch on my chest that is red raw, bleeding and scabby and so unbearably itchy and sore. Yet that has still never been infected.
What cream do you use? xx

Just pop to a chemist and have a word with a pharmacist. It doesn't look infected to my VERY untrained non GP eye but a pharmacist will be able to lead you in the right direction.

If there is any doubt in your mind just get it checked. Try not to panic, even if it is it will be easily sorted out and nothing bad is going to happen to you.
