first smear test panic

Hi im fran im 25 and need to go for my first smear test but am terrified have had cancer affect so many in my family and I am terrified of waiting for the results and its being abnormal . I have no obvious reasons to worry ( no bleeding or discharge ) I have suffered recurring uti which have always gone after treatment but I still cant help but think something will be up it is getting me so down and panicky .

Hi Fran, you will be fine, as you've said no bleeding or discharge that's a good sign : ). Try not to worry (I know easier said than done I do it myself). Whilst waiting for the results keep busy & positive the time shall pass! hugs

It is ok to feel like this, after all it is a check for something not right... BUT of all the checks we have, this is the most useful in my opinion. Worst case scenario? They find something - and TREAT it. Then you are absolutely fine.

Most likely scenario? You are already absolutely fine. :)
