Work anxiety

I have suffered with anxiety on and off for a lot of years and was wondering if anyone thinks it's to do with the type of work and situations placed in on a daily basis. I do work in a mental health secure unit with highly dangerous unpredictable patients. It may sound mad considering my anxiety problem. I did have 8 months break from this type if work and went to the general wards but still found things to worry about and and soon got bored and felt the need to be back working with mental health. So here I am back working in forensic mental health this time in a medium secure unit. My anxiety at present is very high due to me only been there a month and getting to know patients and staff and how they deal with things there. I suppose I have to give it chance to settle down. Does anyone else work in dangerous jobs such as prisons or violent environments ?
