hey everyone! I've been feeling ok lately! i sometimes have worrying thoughts about dying but i'm kind of controlling them.. The one thing that is annoying is that i seem to worry about worrying if that makes sense? I'm scared that i might get worried or panicky if i go certain places or do certain things, even if i never have before! does anyone else have that? or i worry that i'm going to start thinkig about something and then obviously i do!

Hi there,

Your certainly not alone there, this is a very common symptom of anxiety, the best way to control your thoughts is distraction, here are a few posts that may help:

Hiya,

Welcome to the forum!!!

Firstly, let me say youre not alone by worrying all the time.I posted on this forum only last week about the exact same thing!!!
When you are prone to anxiety, your thoughts are greatly exaggerated and you always think the worst, its just another symptom i'm afraid.
Iknow its a nightmare but try to distract yourself when this happens and then youre not focusing on yourself so much. Its hard but you CAN do it...

It wont always feel like this,i promise...

Take care and keep smiling,Candie xx:D

HIYA,

I sympathise, I worry about worrying too, and I worry if I'm not worried if that makes sense. I think maybe I've forgotten or missed something! I find distraction really hard, the worrying thoughts always seem to win. Even if I'm listening to a relaxation tape, I can't seem to shut them out. Maybe it will get easier with practise.

Take care

Yep - this is deffo something that most if not all on this forum could probably relate to on some level.

Most panic attacks and anxiety are the direct result of 'fear of fear'.

Welcome to the forum!

thanks for all your messages!
I also was wondering does anyone know if this will completely disappear or will there always be an element of it there? also is anyone more aware of their thoughts and overanalysing what they're thinking since getting anxiety and will this also disappear?

thanks

hi again,
I became really aware of my 'chatterbox' at the beginning. I seemed to argue in my head all the time. I didn't converse with my poor hubby cos I was always too busy talking to myself. CBT has helped me challenge my thinking in a more focussed and positive way.
