Hi everyone, so yesterday I had my first appointment with a psychologist to overcome my fear of choking on food. It went really well, he got to grasps with how my thought processes are working and what I feel like when I can't eat. He said in order to get better I have got to eat normal solid foods as of the get go because mashing my food and relying on liquids is only promoting the fear even more. So yesterday I managed some chips for my dinner and a small piece of liver for my tea with more chips and gravy, i then had some chocolate fudge cake and cream. However this morning I am trying to eat some porridge( which I couldn't do before) on my own- I haven't eaten on my own in a week. I am terrified every mouthful is horrid but I know I have got to eat it. PLease can anyone offer some words of reassurance to help me.

It might have taken over 30 minutes but I ate my porridge all by myself. Yay! :yahoo:
