Dear All,

I am a 30 year old male. I have been diagnosed with acute( recently acquired) hepatitis c. The doctor says the infection is recent

I had an exposure with a prostitute two months back. Took a rapid retroquick rapid test at 8 weeks. i was negative.

How assured can I be with this result. I am from India.

Have you guys seen negative cases at 8 weeks turn into positive later?

I used to have a fear with HIV and was assured that after 6 weeks the test would show for definite but they always say to do a repeat just in case. Even if the girl did have HIV then from a one off even without protection you would have only the smallest chance of contacting it. Easier said than done but stop worrying now and see it as a positive for the future that it won't happen again

Anyone have any idea as to how good a retroquick test is at 8 weeks?

I am not talking about Elisa 3rd 4th gen tests here.

Have practically lost my mind.

Also, the fact that I have recently acquired hepatitis c makes me more afraid.
