The mental illness monsters

Toby Allen, a Cornish artist, has imagined what eight common mental illnesses would look like if they were monsters.

He drew what he believed anxiety, depression, schizophrenia, social anxiety, avoidant personality disorder, borderline personality disorder, paranoia and dissociative identity disorder would look like as monsters.

hopefully these pictures won't be too big for the post (sorry Nic) but thought I would share as they are brilliant :D

The anxiety one looks scary. They are all very very good. In some ways, giving a "face" to illnesses of the mind is a good thing because you can conjure up that picture when you are dealing with your troubles relating to the illness.

These are excellent - I particularly like the Anxiety Monster description... "common and very hard to get rid of". Thanks for posting :)
