Venlafaxine for physical pains?

I am currently on prozac for depression and anxiety. I also suffer neck pain with no known cause.

My doctor has suggested switching to Venlafaxine because it will help with neuropathy. Has anyone tried this for this purpose?

I haven't but I've heard that some antidepressants can help with pain and other stuff like amitrptyline can be used for pain and ibs
