I read this earlier from the bbc... http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/health-24569778

Its talks about a study conducted showing better success of cbt on health anxiety compared with general reassurance. I have always been a fan of cbt as it is a practical therapy to give people working solutions to their thoughts / fears / problems.

If those that suffer health anxiety haven't tried cbt already then it really is worth a go. There are many online courses that are free, or you can refer yourself through your gp (although there are waiting lists on the nhs - its worth the wait)

I completely agree. I recommend CBT to everyone who suffers anxiety (general, health, social etc) and depression as it challenges your thought process and helps you to change them to a more healthier process. I'm going through it and it's helping tremendously.

Reassurance is like giving a man a fish, but teaching them healthier thought processes is like teaching a man to fish. That's always been my philosophy anyway.
