Red lump in armpit

I have a red lump under my right arm, in middle of armpit. It's about the size of a red bean, and it's painful when handled.

I'm a 40yo male. I'm not sure if it's something simple like infection or something more sinister...

Any experiences of this? Thanks for any advice.
