Hi there,

What exactly are your symptoms and when did you do and see your GP?

I'm sorry you're going through such a hard time right now, especially just after being married :( Was it the wedding that triggered your anxiety?

Do you tend to clench your jaw when you are anxious? Or do you clench and grind your teeth in your sleep?

i was having symptoms on the build up to the wedding but i was happy, and no i dont clench or anything and my jaw dosent hurt. GP says your stressed and its minimal chance it can be serious but i dont want him to think i am just stressed and the wedding has triggered it off when i know there is something wrong thanks for your reply

Unfortunately for you and most of us fellow HA sufferers you have to try hard to accept what the Dr has told you. They know the signs of serious illnesses and would not let you leave if they had any suspicion of serious illness.

It's easy to say, I still to this day find it difficult to believe a Dr but I am trying hard to do it. My aunt went to the Dr in March with a minor issue and ended up in hospital the same day. I won't go into details as it sometimes makes things worse, but if they suspect a slight chance of something serious you would be referred.

Hi,

I had head and neck cancer, specifically, oropharyngeal (back of throat). What you describe doesn't present itself like oral cancer. It actually sounds like severe allergies or sinus issues. I had no symptoms other than a swollen painless hard lymph node on the left side of my neck that didn't go away with antibiotics.

The cancer mantra is "It's not cancer until the say it's cancer", and the oral cancer rule of thumb is: If you have a lesion, area or node in your neck that doesn't resolve in 2-3 weeks, see a qualified oral surgeon or ENT that is familiar with oral cancer. This could be many other things besides cancer. The only way to know for sure is through a biopsy of the suspicious area.

Positive thoughts and prayers
