upper back pain

For 10 days now I've had dull upper back pain just to the right of my spine. I've tried to figure out what may have caused it but i can't pinpoint an injury. I'm thinking it possibly came from poor posture or sleeping in odd positions. I also tend to lift my 43lb child up often in and out of shopping carts in and out of car. I've tried to be positive and think it's possibly a strain from my bad habits. It's unrelenting though. No better, no worse. My HA drives me towards the most dire disease. I google often in hopes of finding something comforting, instead i find words like cancer, metastasis, tumor.
How long should i wait before i run to my GP with yet another concern?

It sounds very much like muscular pain to me. Try putting a heat pad on your back to see if it eases it. massage will help too.
