Hi all, anyone got any tips on how to relax? Any ideas much appreciated? X

Doing breathing exercises helps to relax, and I find listening to guided relaxation on my ipod.

Yes, breathing exercises are a good way of combating anxiety. Breathing slowly and deeply from the abdomen is the most basic skill to learn. Guided relaxation exercises can be excellent. Learning to relax is a skill, people don't usually pick it up straight away, but it is a skill that lasts for a lifetime.

As an aside, people whose anxiety is biological in origin (eg their anxiety seems to be part of their personality and does not seem to be caused by life events or outside factors) may find relaxation very useful in the long run.

I watch youtube videos of relaxation techniques..
People kept telling me to do this but I put it off thinking it would never work, but found out it actually really does!
