Lump concerns

Hi all,

Cancer is one of my biggest fears and for the last four days I have become really worried about a tender lump in front of my right ear, under the skin. I'm pretty sure it's a swollen lymph gland. I use a mobile phone a lot and usually press the phone against my right ear so, as usual, I'm thinking the worst.
Can anyone give me some peace of mind?

Lymph gland. I'd still visit the doctor to be sure. Not that I mean to scare the bejesus out of you, just so that they can explain how many of them the body contains, what they do and why the sometimes swell up enough that you can feel them. I'm sure you're fine :)

Could be a gland - there are loads of them all over the body and they can become tender due to the smallest of infections - or it could just be a spot under the skin, I seem to get a lot of these near my ear sometimes in them!

I'd agree - go and show the doctor.. if only to ease your mind and stop the anxiety over it getting worse.
