Liver Problems

Would something like cirrhosis or fatty liver disease show up on an MRI scan? I have had pain around my liver area and it feels worse after a glass of wine. I have been for an MRI and a CT scan of the area and only thing docs have came back with is that I had a bleeding stomach muscle in my back but they don't think that would cause the pain. Starting to worry I have some sort of serious damage to my liver as I generally have a drink most weekends. I have had these scans though. Thoughts anyone?

Hi Citygirl,

Unfortunately no one here is properly qualified to answer your question. However, if drinking causes symptoms to worsen, logic dictates to refrain from drinking. Drinking is known to aggravate anxiety so you should refrain anyway.

This is best addressed by a medical professional, but being that both a CAT scan and MRI came back clear and your GP dismissed you (although a bleeding stomach muscle sounds pretty serious to me), he wouldn't have done so if he thought it was.
