Throat neck cancer

I have pain on both sides of my neck on an off and it feels like there's a lump stuck at the back of my throat when I swollow :(

Hi Natalie,

As an oral cancer survivor I can tell you that the cancer you're fearing doesn't just come up out of the blue and cause the symptoms you describe nor does it come and go. In the vast majority of cases, there are no symptoms until it's been there a while.

I'm not a doctor but this sounds more viral or bacterial in nature. That being said, a visit to your GP would be wise. There are a lot of bugs going around this time of year and you very well may have picked one up.
