View Full Version : Why did I agree to this?!
Someone from work a few years older than me has asked me about meeting up outside of work.
I've agreed to it.
But feel rather anxious and jittery about it.
Not quite sure what to talk about or if it'll be really awkward etc. any advice?
Do you talk to each other often at work? If you do then I am sure you will be fine talking outside of work too.
Don't go then, simple solution really. Or go and stop making a big deal out of it.

Don't worry about it. You know the guy, you talk to him at work, you're not meeting a complete stranger. Just talk about things you normally talk about at risk.
Come on Emma, you talk about not having any friends and when someone finally asks you to meet up (instead of say you asking somebody else), you are looking for reasons not to go. It might be the start of a great friendship. If you don't at least try, you'll never know.
Just keep calm and be yourself.
You should go and think of it as practice for future social occasions - maybe then you won't feel nervous.
