View Full Version : daily thread, SATURDAY 11TH NOVEMBER
A sad day today, where we remember those who fought in the war.
My nan used to always tell me how she lost 2 lovely brothers within a couple of months of each other , one of them was only 18 years old.
There names were Henry kilshaw and Thomas Kilshaw and I am proud of them just like the rest of my family are.
They were killed by the Japanese in Burma.
WE WILL REMEMBER THEM.

Thanks for that Mirry in this day and age it is easy to forget the sacrifices that people made for us. With all the political correctness and the like. Of course it is still going on now so we should remember all those people that have fought for us in the past and at the moment.
I am sitting here feeling sorry for my self coz I have a "cold" lol, puts it in to perspective really!:D
Steph
Mirry,
That's a lovely memorial post.
We often visit the National Arboretum in Alrewas, Staffordshire. They have planted thousands of trees there to remember the brave who gave their lives for our country.

thank you for reminding us of what day it is - I for one tend to get so wound up in my own business and thoughts so its nice to stop and think what this day resemebles.
Woke up with a terrible headache - but its nothing compared to what those brave people in the war dealt with.
Like Steph says it puts things into perspective.

They shall not grow old, as we are left to grow old.
Age shall not weary them, nor years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning we will remember them.

Had a real crap day, some person being mean to me and saying hurtful things. When you think someone is understanding, it turns out they're not.
