pain under left shoulder blade

Have had a dull ache under my left shoulder blade and am petrified. I am a smoker and straight away think i have a terminal illness. I do suffer from anxiety and have sufferd from panic attacks for years. Am scared of visiting docs but am making myself worse with worry. Can anyone help?

Certainly if the discomfort continues, see your GP but the very best thing to do under the circumstances is quit smoking.
