I have a dry mouth, dry eyes and itchy skin. I'm convinced I have a liver disease as my symptoms fit exactly. The Doctor did liver function tests and they were normal but I read that in this disease they can still show normal. It's really taking over my life. I don't know where to turn. The Doctor said liver disease that is symptomatic would show in liver function tests but I have ALL the symptoms. I also had bloodtest for Sjogrens disease a few months ago and they were negative. I've had a positive ANA test (autoimmune) which went negative again. I'm trying to function for my Husband and two year old but I'm very depressed. The tears are flowing on my own :-(. I know I will have to put a brave face on at Christmas but am terrified what the New Year will bring. Everytime I feel my dry eyes/mouth and when I itch I feel terrified. My plasma viscosity (inflammatory marker like a ESR) has been raised for about a year and a half and they don't know why. Please help me :-(.

Hi. It sounds like the doctor has ruled out a few things so maybe you need to speak to him about your overall concerns and anxieties. He may be able to refer you to someone to help with that on top of the other tests you have had done.

Hi sunflower, I'm going through the same as you for almost two years now. Same symptoms, positive ANA but no other positive bloods. I see a eye specialist for my dry eyes and at my most recent appointment, I saw a different doctor who told me I need to get all my bloods done again as they can change overtime. You may be able to check my posts in the past and and see long ago these symptoms were affecting me and still are. I was told I tested negative for autoimmune and sjogrens but now I've been thrown back into this spiral of uncertainty by the eye doctor who has told me there is a possibility I could still have an autoimmune condition. I suffer terribly from dry eyes and mouth, and see and eye specialist regularly. I have been suffering from anxiety/depression for a longtime now and sometime I believe my symptoms get overlooked because of this :(
