Hi Trish, when you get dizzy what does it feel like? Is it that the room spins around you, or do you get a sense of spinning inside your head? How long does it usually last for?

Hi trish
I can relate to what you are describing. Honey love and I have had exchanges about this before. You say you'd been on the iPad and then changed glasses - this is exactly the sort of thing that can trigger my dizziness. A long time ago this would send me into a panic like you have described but I find the best way to deal with it is to take a few deep breaths and let it pass. I can go weeks or even months without experiencing this but then it can suddenly hit me out if the blue. I know it's unsettling/scary at the time but to be honest I've got used to it and it's been happening for over 30 years and nothing bad has come of it. This dizziness was a trigger for my anxiety (I believe) and though I know it is a common symptom of anxiety in itself it's hard to know which came first!
That said, if you have not talked to your doctor about this before I would recommend that you do. Honey love is experienced with vertigo type issues and I'm sure she will have a lot of helpful suggestions for you.
Hope you feel a bit better today.
Sal

The chances are that your eyes were flickering, this often happens with spells of vertigo so don't worry about it. If it happens again you could ask your husband to look at your eyes and see if they are flickering, it's important for you to mention that to your doctor.

It's also totally normal to feel anxious or panicky when you get a spell of vertigo, so please don't feel bad about it. Every person who's experienced dizziness has been through the same feelings, it's a natural reaction and over time you just get used to it and panic less.

Darbysa is very right in saying that the move from looking at your ipad to focusing on something else could very well be what is making you dizzy. It could also be the result of neck and jaw tension from spending too long bent over your tablet. Your head is extremely heavy, so if you sit looking down at your ipad a lot it's putting a huge amount of weight and tension on your neck, back, face, head, shoulders and chest. All of that muscle tension can build up over time and lead to problems like your sore neck.

A stiff neck can be a cause of dizziness, as can so many other things. What would be a good idea is to pay attention to what triggers it over time.

You should definitely talk to your GP about it and any other symptoms you get with it. GPs don't always know a lot about dizziness, in my experience it was a physio who specialised in Vestibular Rehabilitation Therapy who was most able to help me out.
