Why do we link been hangover with heart attacks. I am a GAD and HA sufferer and when I used to suffer from hangovers (I say used to because I don't drink that much any more) when my heart was racing I automatically thought of a heart attack. I have read a few threads about "alcohol and panic attacks" and what everyone thinks while hangover is heart attack.
Why have we made this relationship we still get rapid heartbeat without drinking alcohol? I always thought of a heart attack while hangover no other illnesses, I could have thought of liver failure but my main concern was heart attack.

The only connection is alcohol is a depressant and makes our anxiety 10 times worse when hungover and will make us worry about things a lot more. It doesn't necessarily have to be worrying about the heart, it could be worrying about anything but people do probably worry about medical/health issues more when hungover as we feel ill and anxiety can make the heart race etc which causes us to focus on it.
