Bruised toenail not painful still have it after 5 months

Hi all:D Want to ask if anyone has had a non painful bruised toenail that has lasted more than 5 months not even started to grow out, thought I would ask ....

Than googling:ohmy: as I made a promise to myself not too anymore :winks:

Hi there, It could be its the actual nail bed underneath the nail that may be bruised which might explain why the bruise isn't 'growing out'. I once had a bruised big toenail just by wearing some flat shoes that were a bit big and I was gripping the shoes with my toes to keep them on! After walking around town like that all afternoon..without any pain..the next day I saw that my nail looked black and it took months and months to grow out.

This happened to me. I banged my little toe quite nicely and it bruised. Long after the pain subsided the bruise lasted. Seemed like it took ages but it did eventually grow completely out. The damaged part of the nail just came off when it grew out enough. All is well now.

I had the same experience. My dog nipped my big toe and it took forever to grow out.
