I've decided to stop drinking alcohol for good because I have come to realise it serves no purpose in my life. I haven't had a drink since new years day , not long I know , so instead of parting with alcohol on bad times (being hungover) I'm doing it solely on good terms (happy and sober) , it's been a long time coming. However , i'm not trying to get into the frame of mind where I will have thoughts such as 'this is going to be hard' etc but being human , obviously , I feel that it's only normal to think like that. I've been looking at the big book of AA , which to my surprise isn't that big , it looks like it could help me be sober. I realise that the problem isn't not drinking it's staying sober. Has this book helped you ? Please note I don't drink everyday but I do feel the need to drink daily even though I don't give into that temptation , I still don't like it being there.
