Hello everybody

I have been on sertraline again for the past three weeks.

Was given sertraline after my stroke 12 years ago. Lost peripheral vision in left eye. Changed to Citalopram, then Fluoextine then back to sertraline after 4 weeks off ad.

Side effects again. My anxiety is really bad.

Any suggestions.

Lol hopey:hugs:

Hey Hopey,

I'm a fellow Sert taker-- my doctor (and some very wise friends here at NMP *Mr.Andy*) have been very assuring that you have to really wait it out for Sert to work. I don't know how long you were on it the first time, but my doc said 12 weeks at a therapeutic dose (for me 100mg) before we would know if it was going to help or not. Three weeks in is very early....., so the only thing I would know to say is speak very clearly with your GP about your side effects and if they say they are normal....believe them. And, the other thing is those famous three SSRI words-- STICK WITH IT.

Wishing you the best!

Thanks very much for your reply.

I AM GOING TO BE PATIENT AND HANG ON IN THERE.

I was on on Sertraline 7 years ago but cannot remember having such nasty side effects.
