flu - really anxious

Hi there, recently someone i used to work with died from bronchial pneumonia but he just thought he had flu which is really worrying. Now my mum has come down with flu and im really worried about her. Is there anyway of knowing the difference? Should she see the doc? Does anyone else worry about this? Any advice/reassurance?

She should rest a lot; drink vitamines and paracetamol, and something for the immune system. If the fever persists after a week, see your gp.
