Using oven

Using the oven for the first time it's brand new, and my mum never washed the tray and grill tray thing they came with the oven.

should she have washed it before putting food on there to cook?

Well they say wash it but it won't really matter to be honest.

You will be fine - I never wash new stuff before using it and it has never hurt me

I doubt the manufacturers would allow anything to be sold with harmful chemicals on them...they must be aware that most people ignore the washing part and just plug things in and use them, me included! Life's too short lol!
