Hey my lovely friends

Does anyone know whether it is possible for prolonged anxiety to cause an enlarged heart or cardiomyopathy due to the amount of excess work it has to do during our moments of panic?

Also if one had an enlarged heart (or cardiomyopathy), could you feel the sensation of having that without being diagnosed with it? ie symptoms such as fluttering heartbeat, general palpitations, changes in heartbeat patterns when changing from a lying down to a standing up position?

Many thanks and God Bless

It says everywhere that anxiety will not harm you in any way. Also, your heart is not working any harder with anxiety than it would if you were a top athelete. So no, I don't think that's possible.

About being able to feel it if you had an enlarged heart, I have a colleague, who has this and never knew. He found out after having an x-ray for pneumonia.
So again, no, I don't think you would feel it.
