Hi Steve,

I wouldn't go as far as saying "the only poeople who have a problem with social phobia are bullies"

Bullies most definately have esteem issues and may have social phobia traits, but there are a huge number of folks here with social phobias who you will find are victims of bullying. Which is what I think you are saying.

I have social phobia issues but seem to have enough skill to handle/avoid bullies, so on that count I'm not bully phobic.

I do see the humour in what you write, just be aware some might not.

Hi Steve.

I know where you're coming from. Bullies are always looking for anything which makes someone an easier target. They are so low, and misguided, they think it makes them look bigger to make someone else feel small.

Don't know of any confidence classes your way. I'm down south here. Maybe your GP could advise you on whats available locally? :D

Lisa.

Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn't do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.

I was bullied in a nightclub the other day about my nose. What's worse, some blonde bimbo fell into his arms afetrwards. I felt so low and still do actually.

I challenged the main one and said "would you mind nto touching my nose please?" really sarcastically but he went "get out of my face!" (one of those who annoys you and then turns it round on you) so Ihad to back fof which was ****ing embarassing.

I think all bullies should be rounded up and turned into dog food.

ashberg, hi there, it's easy for the outsider to say bullies have inferiority problems and are projecting onto you etc, but when it happens you feel sh12.

Happened to me at school - hated it - life was hell.

What's worse can be the waiting for it to happen again, just in case, what will I do, how will I react.

This can be how people end up in adult years having anxiety attacks or develop the symptoms of ocds, phobias etc (note: symptom, not cause)

What I'd say is that if you can get to see someone that offers CBT, hypnotherapy or some of the other quicker cures, you should be able to deal with your inner issues of confidence and indirectly you will become less anxious which may reflect in a change in the relationship with those that bully you.

The bummer can be that even if you change they will try it on.

ashberg, you didn't mention your age, is it something in school, college, work on in a social area. Perhaps you might be able to change something here, which may happen in and of itself after resolving your inner feelings

HTH
