Hellooo everyone,

I just came to ask, where would I go to sort out a TMJ problem?

I've been to the dentist who gave me a guard for the grinding, but I'd just like to sort everything else out, I think it would save me a lot of worry.

Thank you :)

Ask your dentist to refer you to maxillofacial/oral specialist :hugs:

I saw an oesteopath and he was brilliant. He explained exactly what was happening, how my muscles had become full of trigger points and scarring and worked on them. It was painful as some of the treatment was working inside the mouth but it was so worth it. I was convinced it was something really serious as it affected my gums (weird numb sensation) and lots of other problems. Once he explained how it's all connected and started treating me the relief was fantastic. I still get some tightness in the masseter muscle but I don't worry about it (I had been in a terrible anxiety state about it) and it settles down. Now it's my stomach that's causing me problems and I'm freaking out about that now! Hope you feel better soon. I live in Bournemouth. I don't know where you are but if you want his details pm me. I had never seen an oesteopath before and am a real medical phobic but he was just brilliant.

Before I saw him I had been referred to an oral surgeon. All he did was prod me and write back to my GP that it was my anxiety that needed treating!
