So I am going on one month of having a sore throat. I can see inside my mouth that one side of where my tonsils used to be is really red and bigger than the other side. When the doctor looked in my throat 2 1/2 weeks ago he did not comment on anything looking abnormal. I have red spots all over the back of my throat as well. Blood tests and strep tests were normal. Some days the sore throat is barely there, other days it is worse but not horrible. I can swallow just fine. It is a localized pain, like just one spot on my left side. I don't see any sores or anything just the redness on that one side. My ear on the same side is constantly popping and sometimes has a dull ache. Other times it feels like my throat is burning all the way to my ear if that makes sense. I keep telling myself it is allergies or sinuses but now I am beginning to wonder. I have an appt with my doctor Monday and am debating if I should ask to be referred to an ENT.
