Cutting to release the voices

I had this rough day at work yesterday. I have a young patient who is dying, and I had the daughter crying. Her voice stayed with me, so I took a sleeping pill last night, and her voice was gone. I got through the morning, but then I drank some whisky to numb myself. Its never enough though. I cut myself just below my right thumb. It felt better. I have not cut myself in a long time, but I just needed to find some release. My left arm is full of old scars from when I used to cut myself as a teenager. I needed to stop hearing her voice.

I work in healthcare also and I understand how you have been dealing with this. You are certainly not alone.

There are people to talk to, totally private, assuming you work in the NHS?
