hi there i am on my 7th day of fluoxetine (prozac) i am on 20mg i have bpd and major depressive episodes,my problem is i am having the runs soon after taking the tablet and just wanted to kno if this will subside? my doctor was adamant putting me on this anti depressant but i asked her for it as it has helped me b4,but the runny tummy was the issue!! the doc also gave me some diazepan 5mg to help but only for a wk,i see gp on the 17th feb,anyone have this problem,would be so grateful for your help :weep:

Yeah, kinda .... fluoxetine made me more regular. Which was a bonus for me as I'm 'normally' the opposite. What I couldn't understand was, even when I wasn't eating I was still having bowel movements. I think it's a common side effect that should stop after a while, a couple of months maybe.

SSRIs generally cause some kind of GI disturbances, whether nausea, constipation, the runs, or even epic gas (I got the latter!)

They generally take a few weeks to go away, but they usually do in the end.
