I will be literally once I start taking the prep....

I don't think I've ever felt so scared in my life. I really wanted this done for reassurance but now I'm panicking something bad will be found. I was surprised how quick the doctor was to suggest it, half thought I might be fobbed off. However, she wants to check my mucous is not caused by polyps especially as my dad had bowel cancer. She did say the likelihood is that she'll see a healthy colon. She also said "this is not bowel cancer". What if she's wrong?!?!?

What if she is right?

Look at the positives not the negatives.

Exactly! I fully expect to hear your sigh of relief from across the pond :)
And btw... I don't know if I've come across a thread title so blatantly true ;)

Good Luck and positive thoughts.

Also, I think it is normal to be nervous before a colonscopy, especially if you have never had one. I have had many since I have Crohns, and I can honestly say the prep is worse than the procedure. I am sure it will be go great, and you will have a good outcome

Nope well it wasn't too bad for me just good old clear out and a bit of mild tummy ache like I had eaten bitter apples, nothings as bad as the thought.
