Hey guys. Just wanted to get this out and get some advice. I don't know if I am having this episode because of stress of getting into school and the fact my grandpa just passed on Saturday. Well last night I kept having intrusive thoughts about hurting my boyfriend and I would keep going back to that Oprah show that talked about a man who hurt his kids. I couldn't sleep and had anxiety all night because he was laying next to me and I was so scared. I am a happy person and I LOVE LIFE and I LOVE MY BOYFRIEND and my family and friends and I'm confused why all of a sudden these thoughts are shut in my brain. I think I always had OCD, but it was more hypocondria of getting a disease and fainting and dizziness. This makes me sick because of the thought of actually hurting the man i want to marry. I am not depressed but i am scared if this doesn't go away (its been a couple weeks since the "thoughts" came into my head) I will make myself depressed. What do you guys think?? Damn you OPRAH!! :(

Hi,these are only thoughts pet.Alot of people on here get them.I used to think I was going crazy, but thanks to this forum I found out I wasnt. Its part of anxiety.I had thoughts about my man to,and you feel really guilty after for thinking such things. You hurt inside for thinking such horrid things about people you love.
Im sorry for your loss to,this is probably making you more anxious.
I would stop watching oprah as well, its making your anxiety worse.;)

Hey there, I know this one. It's horrible isn't it? And yes, I know that feeling where the panic rises up SO much you think you might do it. Trust me - you won't. The very fact it is causing you so much misery and panic is a sign of how very unlikely you would be to do it. They're just thoughts that everyone has sometimes - but we with OCD get stuck on it. We also tend to have very active imaginations. I know it feels horrible but just remind yourself it's just a thought and is harmless (except for the worry it causes you!)
