I've always had this problem before but this thing only got me really freaked out just now. :(

I usually feel bloated and burp a lot when I eat too fast and overeat or do not eat at the right time.
They usually go away when I eat something like a crackers, bread, etc.

Last year, I rushed to the ER and was only diagnosed with indigestion. I had acid problems two years ago too and a GI specialist didn't really seem to be concerned about it and only put me under omeprazole and everything went fine afterwards.

However, it seems that the acidity has returned since last week when I started to eat lots of junk and overate. :(

My tummy doesn't hurt, but I notice that when I eat too fast or drink water after a meal, I feel so full and burp burp burp a looooot. I don't have any heart burn, acid on my throat, etc.

The burping usually subsides when I eat something light during the burping episodes.

I'm guessing it's still the indigestion thing and extra acid, but I can't help think that it's the big C. :(

I'm only 23 years old and I feel that I will get the big C of the stomach, colon, etc. :(

When you eat too fast, you swallow lots of air, hence the burping. Plus overeating junk food will do the same thing. Air has to come out somewhere so you burp or the air comes out the other end lol.
I'm no expert but I'd suggest eating slower and cut down on the junk food. :yesyes:

Gotta agree with Phuzella here. One only need to read your post to know what's going on. I don't see how you can attribute that to cancer?

Eating properly in all aspects would eliminate you symptoms.

Thanks again phuzella and fish,

I do notice that eating slowly helps a lot. Drinking water sometimes does good too.

However, I still get some fullness feeling after eating and burping even though I try to ear slower.

My doctor once told me that our stomach is like a bonfire. The more we put it, the longer it takes to put it out. I guess my stomach is still quite in shock after all the eating last week and has activated itself to hyperacidity mode.

Does it take more time before my gut can return back to normal again without taking meds?

I think the thing is to always try to eat slowly and limit the amount of junk food you eat. If you constantly overload your belly it will complain and get bloated and you'll burp a lot.

Yes, eat more slowly and more healthily! I used to bolt down my food (I would finish my main course while others were just getting tucked into their starter :-) ) But after a severe wind problem, that included bloating, I've slowed down a lot, and now, not only do I enjoy my food more, but it does help reduce the amount of wind.

Thanks again phuzella, cags, and paul.

I would just like to know how are your stomach issues now that you've learned how to eat slowly? Are there any improvements?

Sometimes it's so hard for me to eat slowly because I just wanna gobble all the food!

hi since my PTSD anything at all that shocks me in the slightest makes me gulp air or try and burp either makes you gulp

now ive realised lol what happens is doing that all day sets you up on the night time with some right weird symptoms

* horrible chest pains
* irritated food pipe so heartburn
* funny feelings in your left arm
* band feeling round your head

Which ofcourse fuels more anxiety

I hope this is reassuring but i am also still in the vicous circle so i know how difficult it is

Thank you again for the replies, everyone.

I'm on my 4th day of omeprazole and I don't think I'm feeling better. :(

My BF is always burping after he eats and gets bloated.. He eats SO fast and I can see he's taking lots of air in when he eats. This can cause a lot of discomfort in your tummy. I always think of trapped wind - it's a teeny bubble of air and it hurts SO much! Junk food is full of rubbishy stuff, so that plus eating fast is bound to cause some discomfort, plus the stress / anxiety you're feeling will add to this.

Honestly I think you'll be fine :)

I can sympathise though, I get bouts of acidy tummy stuff and it's a pain!

Thanks Cags and stars,

stars, may I know if your boyfriend has been to a doctor regarding his burping?

Cags, thanks for sharing. Were you suffering the same symptoms as well? How are you dealing with it for now?
